Here are a few ways we can keep the message of World AIDS Day alive:

1. Read a book that fuels the fire of your passion. There Is No Me without You, by Melissa Fay Greene, is an inspiring story of one woman’s commitment to the orphans of Africa. It’s a beautiful, moving, well-written story—a good book to give as a Christmas giving as well as to read yourself.

2. Learn more about HIV/AIDS in the US. In 1991, Kathy Krieger started The Children’s Place to care for children and families in the Chicago area who

are dealing with HIV or AIDS. Check out www.childrens-place.org to learn more. Click on “Foster Care” for a photo of Kathy (a truly dangerous woman) and one of the babies in her program.

3. Pray that God will give you the opportunity to wish “Merry Christmas” to someone who is HIV-positive. It’s often easier to respond to the needs of people an ocean away than to those in our own community.   (cont.)
