My Current Thoughts…

Every couple of years I seem to forget who I am, or at least what I’m good at, and I start filling my time with activities that drain me rather than fill me up. I did it again this summer, and ended up on a downward emotional spiral until I heard a fantastic speaker—Marcus Buckingham—who gave me a necessary wake-up call.  Buckingham’s talk was based on his books, Now, Discover Your Strengths and Go Put Your Strengths to Work.

When you buy one of these books, you also receive a code that allows you to take an online assessment, the StrengthsFinder Profile, to identify your 5 top strengths.  I read the first book and took the test, and the insights are quickly pushing me back toward my best self.  If you need a slight re-calibration as you head into the fall, I heartily recommend this!

Also, make sure to check out the Global Poverty and AIDS Forum - October 25, 2007. I will be leading one of the sessions and I hope to see you there.
