I promised to share my favorite quotes in ’08, so here goes another one: “When sleeping women wake, mountains move.” I have to confess this isn’t one of the quotes I referred in my previous reflection—the ones taped on lamps or stashed in boxes on my desk. I found this Chinese proverb just this morning on a website I stumbled onto en route to something else. I was captivated by the featured articles chronicling the plight of women and children through the world, from sex trafficking to child slavery. behalf of our sisters in need. McVicker challenged women to pray, but added wisely that when we pray earnestly on behalf of another, we are often called to action on their behalf as well. This is so true. But I would add that before we can pray intelligently for our sisters, we need to learn about their plight. I challenge you to peruse www.globalgirlnetwork.com. Then pray about what you learn and take action as God leads you. McVicker ends her article with this beautiful call: Women of the world, it is time to wake up. There are mountains to move. Yes, yes, a thousand times, Yes!!!
